1) Review Solutions for Last Weeks Coursework#

Before starting this week, be sure to review the solutions for last weeks coursework

Make sure you work out what you don't understand and spend some time considering how the code works.

In each of the folders you'll find a solutions.md file that will explain more of the solution to you. You should read each of them.

Note: This is a private repository. Please speak to your Teacher, Buddy or Class Coordinator to get access. You should ask them to invite your whole class.

2) Sign Up (20 minutes)#

Heroku and Netlify are hosting sites.

Both do different type of hosting:

  • Netlify: static sites (front end)
  • Heroku: full deployment (backend & front end)

2.1) Sign up to Heroku#

Sign up for a free account only. Select NodeJS as language to work with

Sign up for a free account only. Choose the option you want, gmail, github, email etc.

3) Classwork#

Firstly, complete any exercises you did not complete during class. They are essential practice for the rest of the homework tasks.

If you get stuck, reach out to your classmates on Slack for help!

4) Read & Watch (1 hour)#

5) CodeWars (4 hours)#

Complete the following CodeWars exercises. Go to the webpages below and follow the instructions there.

Click "ATTEMPT" to test your solution.

Here are a set of exercise that will help you to solidify your knowledge of JavaScript.

For this step, open the "Mandatory" folder and complete all of the challenges.

Practicing these types of challenges can be a really good way for you to improve your programming skills. Choose a few more of a similar difficultly to continue to improve.
